Guess Kakarrot uh, Carrots aren't there with the VEGETA bombs? :)

Huh. This is clever. It reminds me of Fortune Raiders. Except it feels like there's a bit more strategy here.

Are the numbers of tomatoes and bombs consistent each time?

No, but the chances of getting each are even.

I was thinking it might be more compelling with a multiplayer element. Two players take turns picking or freezing on a bigger grid.

Yeah for sure! You could even make a pretty simple AI, since the decision isn't about where you pick, just if you do or not.

One thing that might be useful inspiration for developing this: It's basically a press-your-luck game, which have been heavily explored in the tabletop space. A couple notable examples are Can't Stop, No Thanks and Incan Gold.

I decided to add a combo multiplier for every veggie you pick consecutively. I think this makes it more of a meaningful decision whether to pick or freeze a patch a grass.

Not bad. A very simple game. Almost a bit like minesweeper, but without information gathering it ends up becoming a random guessing game.

(+1)

It is random but there is an element of risk management with your points.

Here's an idea. What about different vegetables giving different data. Corn for "bomb in diagonal adjacency", or squash for "surrounded by at least 4 bombs", etc? Could be cool!

Yeah I thought about making something more similar to minesweeper
